Edukators, The
Aroview: A compulsive slice of German youth angst about rebels struggling with their cause, this arthouse smash-hit concerns a trio of youthful 'edukators' who break into mansions, scrawl crypto-political messages, enact situationist pranks and scare rich people, in an effort to convert them from Bourgeois Capitalism.
When one such mission goes awry, ending with them kidnapping a wealthy industrialist, the tension and ironies balloon out and the students find themselves struggling to hold their ideals and personal bonds intact. Though the plot idles as it stirs its message a little to thickly, this has a refreshing levity (aided by a charismatic cast) and a voice that will connect with youth of its day.
