Sky Is Falling, The
Aroview: Two young orphan girls are sent to live with relatives in Tuscany, Italy during WW2 and discover intriguing new perspectives through their Jewish uncle, but also the horrors of wartime chaos and moral expedience.
Rossellini and Krabbe scarcely put a foot wrong (as aunt and uncle) indulgently overseeing the escapades of the children and carefully interracting with retreating German troops who are unfortunately billeted with them. While adding nothing really new to genre, this handles its subject with graceful ease.
