Aroview: Light yet smart New York City comedy in the Woody Allen mode, proposing the cracked fairytale of 30-something Thurman being wooed by a young artist who turns out to be the son of her therapist (Streep).
With a reasonable line in Jewish humour and some nice 'Big Apple' locales, this mostly rides over the mistaken identity plot cliches. The script's observant sense of human passion and complication is also impressive, and the whole adds up to an intelligent alternative to usual romcom frippery.
