Modigliani
Aroview: The debauched final years of painter Amedeo Modigliani (Garcia) - he of the famous paintings of almond-eyed women - are conveyed with salacious relish in this middling biopic.
Although largely inventing a supposed rivalry with Picasso in the ferment of 1910s Paris, this has a certain grasp of the passionate romanticism of the heroes, though Zylberstein steals the movie as Garcia's elegant lover and muse.
