Underworld: Evolution

USA 2005, 102 minutes
Dir. Len Wiseman
Rating: [R16]
Genres: Horror, Action/Adventure, Suspense/Crime, Science Fiction / Vampires

Topics: Gothic.

Aroview: The slinky, rubber-clad Kate Beckinsale continues her Vampiric crusade against 'the Lycans' (Werewolves) in this obligatory sequel to the darkly futuristic action-horror UNDERWORLD.

In this outing, Beckinsale tracks the origins of the centuries-old feud back to Eastern Europe and arch-progenitor Derek Jacobi, all the time pursued by his monstrous bat-winged son, who is looking to free an even more evil relative from a long-forgotten prison cell. Plot incoherence aside, this sports enough interesting techno-driven action and ominous dialogue to keep hungry sci-fi-ers satiated.
