Van Helsing
Aroview: More entertaining than some critics might have you believe, this big-budget monster-mash sees Hugh Jackman out to save a Transylvanian village under constant attack from flying brides of Dracula.
Frankenstein’s monster, the Wolfman and a swordwielding Kate Beckinsale also pop by to liven up proceedings. Let down only by a lack of good lines for the heroes and an uninspired Count Dracula, this remains stylish and fast-moving, blessed in its best moments with a winning sense of its own silliness.

1 star (Turkey) A very disappointing vampire/fantasy outing that attempts to draw together several different universes and ultimately fails to deliver a convincing world of its own. For all its promise, the film only gets worse the longer you sit through it. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) Must be one of the noisiest films ever made - not just in decibels but it seems there is no let up - continuous action. Some of the visual effects are well done as are the creature makeup. ~Tubbs
