Aroview: Likeable British comedy adds a quirky twist to the usual battling 'dreamer' storyline, with a struggling Northampton shoe factory (inherited by an inexperienced Joel Edgerton) investigating a possibly lucrative new product-line: stiletto-heeled thigh boots.

Inspired by the promises of an extroverted transvestite (Chiwetel Ejiofor), the family firm takes a punt on these "kinky boots", but must adapt to the new market and clientele, a collison of provinciality and flamboyance that lends the film much of its warmly-delivered, if wellworn humour. For fans of THE FULL MONTY, this should be a perfect fit.
