Silent Britain
Aroview: An intriguing journey into the 'Lost Atlantis' of the British silent film industry, which prior to 1929 generated thousands of films, as much through small businesses in various provincial towns as through the major studios at Shepperton and Ealing. Presented by Matthew Sweet, this features excerpts from many surviving film works - most long-forgotten - but also excavates the social meaning of cinema at its dawning.
Includes the complete film 'Cut it Out' (1925).
