Quiet, The
Aroview: A creepy teenage melodrama about an orphaned deaf-mute girl (Belle) who goes to live in suburbia with her godparents (Falco, Donovan) and becomes aware of disturbing family secrets in the household.
Most dreadful of these is the ongoing sexual abuse by Donovan of his daughter (Cuthbert) who - in front of the supposedly deaf houseguest - vows to kill him. Sprinkled with a variety of other sensational touches (teenage social cruelties, lesbian flirtations, prescription addiction) this is perhaps too overspiced, but manages to capture a certain dark-heartedness.
