Aroview: Alternating between past and present, Jackie Chan plays a warrior general during the Qing Dynasty and a modern day archaeologist respectively in this mythic blend of epic warmongering, wu xia swordplay, and bodice ripping romance.

Despite losing much of his boyish exuberance to the middle ages, Chan still proves to be nimbly adept at performing the film's quota of marital arts sequences. Meanwhile, spiffy cinematography, grand costumes, and an abundance of special effects keep the senses overloaded and distracted from the otherwise goofy time-warp adventure at hand.

2 stars (Good Try) The battle scenes have been done a few times before, and possibly with the same warriors, but overall the production values are very good. ~Tubbs
