Other, The
Aroview: The uneasiness of childhood is explored in this classic of early 70's horror, an under-seen gem that holds its own alongside sensationalist contemporaries like THE EXORCIST and THE OMEN with its careful direction and creepy child protagonists.
Pitching more of a stake in American Gothic tradition, it tells the story of twin boys who are eerily bonded by the estrangement of their sick mother in the rural mid-west of the 1930's. Elegantly adapted from the novel by actor-turned-writer Thomas Tryon, it is the child performances of real-life twins Chris and Martin Udvarnoky that leave the strongest mark.
