Prestige, The
Aroview: Another astounding feat of storytelling from the dir. of MEMENTO that spins a constantly intriguing yarn of two rival magicians who engage in a dangerous game of one-upmanship in Victorian London.
Cannily structured like a complex three-act magic trick ('the pledge', 'the turn', and 'the prestige') that's sustained with expert craft and elegant showmanship, the setting also conveys a thrilling sense of discovery and nostalgia. The prestige cast also work wonders, most suprisingly David Bowie as enigmatic inventor, Nikolas Tesla.

3 stars (Good Enough) The story is solid and the visuals are wonderful, but the two leads and the final twist left me disinterested and unimpressed. ~Wizzums
