Piccadilly Jim
Aroview: Adapted from P.G. Wodehouse’s comic novel, this tells the tale of an American scoundrel who flails about and fails on both sides of the Atlantic in the 1930s.
With plenty of wry wit and Sam Rockwell pitch perfect in his performance, this doesn't wish for anything more than what it sets out to achieve – a few laughs smeared within a wafer-thin plot (generally the way with Wodehouse’s books). Some have argued that the movie is confused in its setting, but for a subversion of the typical romantic-comedy, it's an affable watch, charming in places and with enough vital laugh-spots.
