Weeds (TV Series)
Aroview: Tinkering with suburban values and the illusion they help maintain, this wry and caustic comedy of affluence trafficks the drug trade of a widowed single mother secretly dealing in marijuana in order to keep up appearances in an unforgiving neighborhood.
Edgier than DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES yet not without sitcom-conducive laughs, Mary Louise Parker finds the right balance between attractive smarts and savvy delivery of the show’s pot-black humour, while Elizabeth Perkins provides a perfect foil in her soccer-mom scorn. After the first three of four seasons the plot gets a little desperate.
