Rocky Balboa
Aroview: Not quite down for the count, Sylvester Stallone heaves himself off the canvas for one last shot at glory in this, the sixth (and surely final) ROCKY feature.
Forgiving the absurdity of Stallone’s tailor-made comeback for a moment (wildly implausible, the now-retired former champion returns uncontested to fight for the heavyweight crowd), this never fails to play the odds, checking off all the rousing boxing crescendos to deliver an unchallenging but digestible sporting cliche. Bloated and arthritic inside the ring, Stallone nevertheless demonstrates a competitive edge behind the camera with a competent outing as the film’s director - however unnecessary a sequel it may be.

3 stars (Good Enough) The concept may seem ridiculous on paper, but Sly delivers Balboa with the same honest and hard-fought raw underdog emotion that Rocky first became known for. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) Some good outside seedy location shots. Some memorable dialogue "I know nuthin about no dog". After the emotional speeches and underdog fighting the odds I'm sorry my eyes watered and I couldn't tell you the result of the fight. ~Tubbs
