5 stars (Exceptional) Outstanding film won 5 Oscars in 1967. Stunning performances by Sidney Poitier & Rod Steiger have never been surpassed. Memorable title song written by Quincy Jones sung by Ray Charles. Gripping plot with nasty characters who'd be Trump supporters today. ~Sandy
4 stars (Very Good) 50 years on and it is standing the test of time. The initial dignified Poitier/chewing gum Steiger confrontation with Oates lurking in the background is a good set up for what is to come. Great photography, music score and supporting cast. ~Tubbs
