Synopsis: The final film by William Wyler, depicting racial tensions in a fictional Tennessee town, where a successful African-american businessman suspects that his younger wife is having an affair with a white policeman. Co-written by 'In The Heat of the Night' writer Stirling Silliphant and based on the novel by Jesse Hill Ford, which was in turn based on real events.
