Double Dare
Aroview: Stunt double Zoe Bell steps into the spotlight as the infectious, rough-and-tumble subject of a documentary on her rise to (almost) fame.
One half of Xena Warrior Princess and KILL BILL’s Beatrix Kiddo, Bell’s disarming personality greatly enhances this conventional tribute to stuntwomen, which pays homage in particular to pioneering Jeannie Epper, Lynda Carter’s (WONDER WOMAN) longtime double. With various insights into the pitfalls of the industry – and the disadvantages at being female in Hollywood – dir. Micheli manages a brief critique of show business, but otherwise leaves the talking to Bell, whose true-blue Kiwi attitude is by turns inspiring and refreshing (look out for her in the flesh in Quentin Tarantino’s to-be-released DEATH PROOF).
