Aachi and Ssipak

Aroview: Bawdy Korean anime imbues its puerile subject matter – where in a post-apocalyptic society, human excrement is the currency of choice – with a satirical maturity and sense of humour that's both racy and adult.

With its cheeky scenario of black market feces, sought by a sub-human breed of creatures, and exploited by two small-time crooks and their pornstar sidekick (who has a talent for bowel movements), this revels in its own filth, but also succeeds simultaneously as an elaborate, large scale animation spectacle, energised by MATRIX-style action sequences and an explosive finale that homages INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM.
