Checking all the boxes in the Christopher Guest mould, this is as dependable as the genre gets, replete with sharp observations on sporting competitiveness and the winning obsession. If mild on the satire, ample warmth and charm carries the film through as a companion piece to both LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and STRICTLY BALLROOM.

4 stars (Very Good) My granddaughters love this movie, and the 14 year old laughs out loud. A tongue in cheek Australian gem that I originally discovered on Rialto channel. Magic. ~Macthella
