Lookout, The

Aroview: It-boy Joseph Gordon-Levitt elevates this small-town crime thriller as an impaired bank janitor who is coerced into acting as an inside man for a planned robbery.

Afflicted by guilt and a condition which affects his ability to sequence simple tasks, the spin is a little too contrived and the setting a little too familiar, but it makes the grade as a diverting thriller, and is a commendable directorial debut from the writer of GET SHORTY and MINORITY REPORT. Jeff Daniels stars as his affable blind sidekick.
