Family Ties (TV Series)

Aroview: Perhaps the quintessential 80's family sitcom, based around the 'politically-correct' ex-hippie parents who find themselves in the Reagan-Era Midwest with a conservative son and a daughter whose an unashamed material girl.

Intelligent and socially aware, while still managing to be reliably wacky and funny, this was of course the career springboard for Michael J. Fox, who as the young Republican would gradually steal the show with the best lines, his impeccable comic timing, and that irrepressibly cheeky grin.
