Aroview: Unnerving horror adapted from a Stephen King short story about a mysterious mist which rolls into a small town in Maine, driving the townsfolk to superstition.

This succeeds in eliciting frights chiefly through showing rather than telling – a lesson many horror directors could learn from. While the insufferably pat dialogue often grates, the unfathomable creepiness of the mist won't fade so easily from audience minds.

Internet forums have recently blown this up into one of the most divisive film endings of all time.

2 stars (Good Try) Creatures/effects are terrific but because of the film's length they lose much of their impact - too much screen time spent on the humans - they should have been eaten quicker (the kid first).Harden's character has been done before. Ending melodramatic. ~Tubbs
