Inner Life of Martin Frost, The
Aroview: Philosophy-lite drama gets inside the head of a retreating novelist (Thewlis) suffering from writer’s block who gets reinvigorated by a breezy young muse (Jacob) who isn’t quite what she seems to be.
With its characters repeatedly indulging in flimsy philosophies amidst musings on the transcendental nature of creativity, this doesn’t quite have the intellectual wings to rise up to writer-director Auster’s lofty aspirations, though fans of GHOST and the ever-watchable Thewlis and Imperioli should get something out of this.
