Paris
Aroview: A sweet-natured, if rather slight romantic dramedy, weaving in and out of the lives of a diverse set of heart-worn and heart-won individuals amid the picture-postcard City of Love.
Tentatively anchored by the exceptionally versatile Duris, here playing a cabaret dancer with a rickety ticker, this is frequently witty, moving and frank in a manner very much peculiar to the French, but is perhaps guilty of spreading itself too thin across the characters to allow for any kind of lasting emotional engagement. Carried by a uniformly excellent cast, the magic lies more in capturing moments than any sense of cohesive, in-depth storytelling.
