Café de Flore
Aroview: Two parallel stories of love and hope transcend their time difference in this fantastical juggling act from French-Canadian filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée (C.R.A.Z.Y).
Bound together by the titular pop song, the film makes hard work of tying together its disparate storylines - one, a love triangle set in contemporary Montreal, the other tale of a mother's devotion to her Downs Syndrome-afflicted son in 1960s Paris - however strikes a number of emotional high-points to carry its audience through the rough patches.
