Shoot on Sight
Aroview: Not so much hot potato as lukewarm, this political thriller bases its story on the real-life shooting of an innocent Brazilian man gunned down by Scotland Yard after being mistaken for the 2005 London Tube terrorist bomber.
Ostensibly a thriller but bearing all the hallmarks of made-for-TV melodrama, this treats its incendiary topics of racism and terrorism with mostly surface level concern, making well-intentioned but ultimately black-and-white statements about opposing ideologies, though Puri transcends the script with an especially convincing performance as a Muslim radical.
