Eagle Eye
Aroview: Derivative but entertaining cyber-thriller in which a young man and single mother get framed as terrorists and find themselves unexpectedly entrenched in a plot to assassinate a politician.
Reteaming DISTURBIA’s LaBeouf and dir. Caruso, this tilts at an Orwellian world of shady surveillance and techno-phobia, as copy shop employee-turned-unlikely action hero LaBeouf attempts to outsmart Big Brother-ly supercomputer ‘Aria’ while on the run. High-concept paranoia that feels like a pretext for big budget explosions and sandpit-fantasy car crashes, this will doubtless deliver for viewers willing to embrace the often laughable absurdity of it all.

2 stars (Good Try) Beginning with a mysterious and compelling 'Big Brother' premise, this is one of those films which becomes more ridiculous the longer you watch, with initial suspense replaced with OTT sci-fi elements. ~Tom H
