Fallen Angel

Aroview: Follow-up to Preminger's film noir LAURA stars Andrews as a penniless drifter who falls in love with beautiful waitress Stella (Darnell) so marries a rich divorcee (Faye) for money in order to offer her financial support, only to discover Stella is murdered and he is the prime suspect.

Preminger uses long, lingering shots to great effect here, capturing subtlety in the lead performances; particularly from Andrews at his minimalist best. As the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and the killer is eventually revealed, you'll be left haunted.
