Dance of the Dead
Aroview: Lean and mean zombie comedy about a plague of living dead who crash the high school prom and the dateless losers who appear to be the only ones who can stop them.
Despite it's low budget, this brings the laughs thanks to a tight script which rejects the usual high school stereotypes and keeps things unusually grounded in the real world despite the buckets of gore; complemented by a cast of actual teenagers, all of whom play their roles with a refreshing, un-ironic honesty. The frenzied, rabid zombies aren't too bad, either.

4 stars (Very Good) A much better comedy than I expected it to be, Dance of the Dead comes out firing on all cylinders - it's got the homour, the references to old zombie film, and an actual creep factor. Cliched towards the end, but a good ride. ~Tom H
