Shaun of the Dead
Aroview: The zombie movie genre collides with distinctively British "lad humour" in this playful and wildly entertaining parody.
Centred around the dischevelled daily grind of a hardware salesman (Simon Pegg, who co-wrote the script), his slovenly flatmate and his fed-up girlfriend, this has unlikely characters worth rooting for and wrings many laughs out of the sometimes imperceptible line between the living and dead. Perhaps resembles the 'real thing' a little too closely in the final reel, but this will still go down (with a pint or two no doubt) as a minor classic of the genre.

4 stars (Very Good) Shaun of the Dead is a great zombie-comedy by writers Pegg and Wright, poking fun at survival horror, romance, and action films alike. Being a spoof, there aren't many original ideas, but there sure are some laughs to be had. ~Tom H
5 stars (Exceptional) Manages to be both an excellent zombie movie and an excellent comedy. ~dr.strangelove
4 stars (Very Good) A real riot, full of laugh-out-loud moments, and its a damn fine zombie film to boot. ~Wizzums
