Aroview: Robert De Niro stalks the decaying streets of the Big Apple to Bernard Herrmann's haunting score before flipping his lid and enacting brutal revenge on "corrupt society". Urban psychosis in America has never been more potently depicted than in Scorsese's landmark thriller. Script by Paul Schrader.

5 stars (Exceptional) Unforgettable tale about a highly disturbed Vietnam vet turned New York cabbie prowling the streets, on a mission to leave his mark on society. The film that kicked off both De Niro and Foster's successful acting careers. A real classic. ~GenXGirl
4 stars (Very Good) De Niro is brilliant, as is a very young-looking Jodie Foster. Violent and psychotic, there is not much to the story, but De Niro establishes one of the most memorable characters in history. You lookin' at me? ~Tom H
5 stars (Exceptional) Powerful beyond words. De Niro gives an exceptional performance, keeping the viewer mesmerized throughout a stunning portrait of post-war angst. Haunting, unforgettable viewing. ~Wizzums
