Aroview: The dir. of CASSHERN helms this visionary medieval spectacle, based on a 16th century bandit whose Robin hood-style exploits are steeped in Japanese folklore.

A strictly revisionist, CG-laden epic in vein of sword-and-sandal romp 300, the film unsurprisingly takes the form of an ultra-violent video game, though there’s a certain finesse to Kiriya’s stylised battle sequences that elevates the otherwise cartoonish action above its Hollywood counterpart.
