Unmade Beds
Aroview: In parallel stories, a Spanish boy and a French girl try to find meaningful connection while squatting in a London hipster neighbourhood in this decadent Bohemian romance.
The semi-improvised approach leaves the narrative ragged and under-developed, but it's splendidly evocative and gets to the nub of adolescent alienation, with its music/artschool subculture portrayed with uncommon empathy and accuracy. Like the characters' experiences, this is one party that shoe-gazing indie-kids and old-school brit-poppers alike may find be hard to recall the morning after, but one they'll be relieved they stumbled into.
