Aroview: Paul Bettany adds another fine role to his resume in this big screen interpretation of the challenges faced by Charles Darwin as he struggles to write 'The Origin of Species'.
While it mostly finds satisfying dramatic form for Darwin's troubled conscience, ailing health and personal grief, it occasionally indulges in cinematic padding as it attempts to transcend the subject's more natural fit as a tele-movie. Successful and entertaining on its own terms, though, and certainly a good entry point to evolutionary theory or the broader intrigues of scientific progress.
