Two in the Wave
Aroview: Taking us back to the inception of the French New Wave and the emergence of its two heavyweights, Jean-Luc Godard and Francois Truffaut, this is a must-see documentary for film buffs of any persuasion.
Written and directed by historians, the doco draws on a wealth of archival material while shedding new light on the initially aligned, but ultimately disparate career paths of Godard and Truffaut, whose political and aesthetic ideals famously clashed, according to the 'piggy in the middle' of both filmmakers, actor Jean-Pierre Leaud.
