Aroview: Godard's landmark first film pulls out all the stops in the style department - with Jean-Paul Belmondo as the romantic fugitive, jump-cutting his way through a photogenic gay Paris to the dulcet tones of jazz and Mozart.

3 stars (Good Enough) An insistent jazz score interrupts at times. A strange bed room scene of about 20 mins. where the combatants talk drivel otherwise mainly wonderful street locations.Interesting editing and continuity - watch Belmondo's cigarettes as he chain smokes. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) Am I simply too young to appreciate French new wave? I just can't appreciate despicable characters being rewarded for being terrible, even while they're being punished. I don't care how it's shot. This is the shortest movie that's ever felt too long. ~Pop&Coffee
4 stars (Very Good) Very cool editing and interesting characters ~emjay
Region 2 rental version features Godard's short film, "Charlotte et Son Jules".
