Our Idiot Brother
“A warm, intelligent and highly contemporary comedy with just the right amount of edge.”~Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com
Aroview: Agreeable, if largely uninspired vehicle for comedy everyman Paul Rudd, here playing the sweet-natured but gullible sibling to three sisters whose high-functioning lives begin to unravel after he is arrested on a minor count of drug possession.
Meekly parodying modern lifestyles vs. liberal hippie enlightenment, this also squanders the talents of its appealing cast (particularly, Steve Coogan), though still manages to nestle comfortably into the mold of an indie family dramedy - at best, no more than an easy night's viewing.
