Women on the 6th Floor, The
“Lighter than a meringue and as insubstantial, [this] French boulevard comedy... was designed for the gentle laughter it easily earns.”~Manohla Dargis, New York Times
Aroview: An immensely entertaining comedy of the classes, about an uptight Parisian couple who welcome a gaggle of Spanish maids into their lives for the better.
Vividly set in the sixties, this benefits from the current vogue for all things period, and like DOWNTON ABBEY, gains plenty of mileage from the intermingling of upstairs and downstairs residents. It's strictly played for laughter though, and has buckets of French charm and warmth for its characters in reserve.
