Aroview: Masterminded by Joss Whedon, this hilarious inside-out horror comedy promises the last word on the horror genre, although its cleverness is best left to the viewer's discovery.
Needless to say, the less known the better, as Whedon and protege Drew Goddard reverse the expectations of the audience, undercutting horror conventions and tropes at every turn, before plunging the film into an outrageously imaginative and apocalyptic third act. Certain to strengthen the Whedon cult, this also features an eye-catching turn by Kiwi actress Anna Hutchison.

4 stars (Very Good) A novel take on horror - trust Whedon to amp the genre up a notch! Pity about the lackluster ending, but all else considered, a recommended, strangely self-aware, sci-fi horror in the vein of Cube. ~Tom H
3 stars (Good Enough) First two thirds of the film covers familiar territory - borrowed from other films. The last third however is an enjoyable mish mash when all the stops are let out. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) Fun midnight movie. I look forward to watching this in 30 years to see how it has aged. ~Catapillar
