Bad Times at the El Royale
“It may overstay its welcome a bit, and it never realizes the potential of its villain, but it’s still an engrossing, well-made crime flick bolstered by several fine performances.”~IGN
Aroview: Deliciously suspenseful ensemble thriller from the director of CABIN IN THE WOODS, set circa 1969, following a group of strangers who converge by chance at a rundown hotel on the border of California and Nevada. Naturally everyone is hiding secrets, including the movie, which eventually emerges as a whip-smart post-Tarantino dalliance with audience expectations.

2 stars (Good Try) Triumph of 60's style over weak plot. Contrast of bourgeois with bizarre attracts, but is soon boring. Made up of semi-coherent armed confrontations. Most westerns better; main strength this movie has is a spooky set. ~Sandy
2 stars (Good Try) Some of the segments are interesting but overall this is a bit of a slog. ~Tubbs
