Aroview: Mel Gibson slums it as a drug runner sent to a hellish Tijuana prison in this lurid south-of-the-border thriller.

Befitting of the actor-director's deteriorating public image, the film makes full use of Gibson's down-and-out persona, giving us a nightmarish ordeal at once seedy and blackly humorous. The appropriately grimy cinematography is by Gasper Noe's regular DP, Benoit Debie.
