Whisperer in Darkness, The
Aroview: A fittingly old-fashioned homage to the 30s Universal horror by way of H.P. Lovecraft's story of an extraterrestrial folklore.
This simulation of vintage Hollywood is also faithful to Lovecraft's novel, although somewhat short on the tension and dread characteristic of the master's best (and most unfilmable) works. Includes the silent short 'Call of Cthulhu' (47m.), an earlier adaptation of a Lovecraft tale by the same filmmakers, themselves the founders of the Lovecraft Historical Society.

4 stars (Very Good) Great Lovecraft adaptation from people who know and love the source material. Quite low budget, but what they had is all on the screen. Highly recommended. ~Anon
