Aroview: Young French-Canadian actor/director Xavier Dolan stays behind the camera of his third film (made at 23 years of age, no less), an assured chronicle of one man's ten year transformation into a woman.

Although Dolan continues to find his feet as a storyteller, and still gives into needless youthful flourishes as a visualist, this latest effort achieves an emotional intelligence and thematic complexity that belies the filmmaker's scarcely believable age.

3 stars (Good Enough) I couldn't stay with the characters for the long running time but the film still continued to offer some excellent segments. The look of the film - design and art work plus the wardrobe/makeup ensured there was always something to arrest the eye. ~Tubbs
