Aroview: Paul Rudd plays a struggling LA music exec whose reached the Big 4-0 in this funny and sometimes brutally honest look at modern relationships from writer-director Judd Apatow.
Marketed as a "sort of sequel" to KNOCKED UP, this is a far more believable scenario, if nothing else because the wife and daughters are played by Apatow's real-life family. Adding to the relatable trials and tribulations of parenting in the information age, Albert Brooks and John Lithgow lend substance as the couples' respective fathers, and cult rocker Graham Parker has a key cameo as himself. Like all Apatow comedies, it stuffs in too many ideas and has occasionally odd tonal shifts, but this one in particular resonates as a contemporary comedy for our times.

4 stars (Very Good) Thoroughly enjoyed it after a slightly messy start. Insightful and honest portrayal of people and life. Also helps if you're a fan of Graham Parker. ~s36e175
1 star (Turkey) The only funny thing about this is labeling it as a comedy. ~Tubbs
