“A compassionate, rigorously unsentimental masterwork from a director who doesn't normally truck in emotions like the one named in the title.”~Slate

Average rating (Very Good). Showing 1-3 of 3 member reviews.
5 stars (Exceptional) The two leads inhabit the material without a breath of overstatement. The director observes with a sensitivity that rejects sentiment and keeps key ambiguities intact to encourage debate. Profoundly moving, plainly brilliant. ~fairbrother
4 stars (Very Good) Realistic and sad ~Milana
3 stars (Good Enough) Starts well but the middle scenes need patience, as the screenplay aims for authenticity in portraying the caring of a loved one. However, the ending is worth the wait & the two veteran performances are good enough to push the great Huppert to one side. ~Tubbs
