“A work of emotional reserve, eschewing psychological explanation in favor of unadorned observation - of human behavior as well as nature and the still lifes of the domestic world.”~Los Angeles Times
Aroview: In pre-war France, a free-spirited woman joins a wealthy landowner in a loveless marriage. Audrey Tautou dials down the cute to deliver an engagingly mysterious performance in this emotionally tense period drama, expertly directed by the late Claude Miller.

4 stars (Very Good) Beautifully lit, composed & acted - what more! An agonising tale. Audrey Tautou is splendid; more intense than ever. Her best performance so far, I think. Filmed in Aquitaine, SW France. Terrific! ~Sandy
