Aroview: The directors of HOWL turn their attention to the tragi-drama of one-time pornstar Linda Lovelace, whose unexpected stardom for her role in the infamous XXX hit DEEP THROAT was matched only by the abuse she received at the hands of men who exploited her fame.

Despite the seriousness of Lovelace's ordeal, this is an off-colour take on a story best represented in the documentary INSIDE DEEP THROAT. Choked with self-conscious, "look-at-me!" cameos (James Franco as Hugh Hefner, anyone?) and cheesy period detail, only Amanda Seyfried as the titular Lovelace comes out on top with a sympathetic performance.
