Feat. Jessica Harper, Alida Valli, Joan Bennett
Aroview: This is the quintessential Dario Argento feature - a hysterical gothic nightmare about a girl trapped in a sinister ballet academy.
Visually intoxicating with a pounding electronic soundtrack by the legendary Goblin, this jangles the nerves in a way that was never quite matched again by the master of Italian horror.

4 stars (Very Good) Manic editing, too-rich colour, dizzy camera-work, incredible sets, and (I reckon) the most terrifying score ever recorded for a film. Argento makes cinema of madness itself - crap script and acting, but such a scary, stylish trip, it demands recognition. ~fairbrother
3 stars (Good Enough) It is a little different from commercial horror offerings if for nothing else the set designs, artwork and a thy shall not sleep music score. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) Take a deep breath before diving into this gore-drenched masterpiece, where the bouzouki's drone reverberates throughout a set awash in primary colours. Delirious! ~gnomon
4 stars (Very Good) ~Wyatt Earp
5 stars (Exceptional) Look if you don't turn it up LOUD you haven't really seen it. ~Pearce
