Nightcrawler
“a ghoulish and wickedly funny satire on journalism, the job market and self-help culture. ”~Henry Barnes, The Guardian
Aroview: A nervy and quite brilliant satire with Jake Gyllenhaal unforgettable as a petty thief who muscles into the world of crime journalism, shooting footage of accidents and crimes in Los Angeles and selling it to unscrupulous news channels.
Original and effective as a high tension thriller and provocative as a commentary on the collateral damage of unbridled capitalism.

5 stars (Exceptional) ~Regando
4 stars (Very Good) Three excellent performances (Gyllenhaal, Ahmed, Russo) but really it works neither as satire nor as character study - I thought its aim was off and it was pointlessly nasty, but brilliantly done... ~HiFi
2 stars (Good Try) The plot idea is fine but the screenplay becomes less and less convincing until it finally outreaches itself. ~Tubbs
